In Ultimate Ascent robots compete to score as many discs into their goals as they can during the match. The higher the goal in which the disc is scored, the more points the Alliance receives. The match ends with robots attempting to climb up pyramids located near the middle of the field. Each robot earns points based on how high it climbs.
Our robot was designed to shoot frisbees into the highest goal and hang on the bottom pyramid rung. It had a six wheel tank drive that allowed it to achieve great velocities while being strong enough to push opponent robots. Two pneumatic wheels rotating at thousands of RPMs propelled the discs and two strong pistons fitted with metal hooks lifted the robot off the ground for the end game. These capabilities earned us the 15th place after the qualification matches and a ticket to the quarter-finals.
